The drama surrounding Nigerian football star Kayode Olanrewaju’s lawsuit against Pastor Tobi Adegboyega and his estranged wife, Dora Ezinne Kayode, has taken a shocking turn.

In a new development, Olanrewaju has revealed that he received a credit alert from his father-in-law in May 2024, indicating a refund of the bride price paid during their wedding. Shortly after, Ezinne publicly declared herself “traditionally free” on social media, citing the refund as the reason.

This revelation adds a new layer of complexity to the already explosive case. Olanrewaju claims that the refund and Ezinne’s declaration are a direct result of her alleged infidelity and financial misconduct. He argues that these actions, coupled with the severe emotional and financial tolls they have taken on him, have led to the breakdown of their marriage.

Olanrewaju’s lawsuit, which seeks ₦1 billion in damages, also highlights the impact of this crisis on his professional life. He claims that the need to address this situation forced him to terminate his international football contract, further emphasizing the gravity of the situation.

In his petition, Olanrewaju requests the court to dissolve his marriage with Ezinne and grant him custody of their children. He argues that his estranged wife is not a suitable role model for their children, citing her alleged actions as evidence. The case has been adjourned to September 24th, 2024, for a hearing.
